Frame Running: New Name, Same Sport
RaceRunning has a new official name: Frame Running. The change is a part of the evolution of the sport as it moves toward inclusion in the Paralympic Games. The hope is that this new, more descriptive name will be clearer for those being introduced to the sport, and will help with its continued growth and popularity around the world.
Participating athletes will now be called frame runners, and the equipment they use is called a running frame (instead of a racerunning frame).
So: RaceRunning is Frame Running, and Frame Running is RaceRunning. It’s the same activity, the same equipment, the same opportunity for exercise and recreation, and the same fun! Whether you’re out on a competition track or heading for a walk around the block, you’re a frame runner, and we hope that you’re able to experience the freedom, mobility, and enjoyment of frame running with lots of new people for many years to come. It’s an exciting time in the development of this sport, and we’re glad you’re a part of it.
You’ll notice we’re in the process of changing over to the new terminology on this website. We appreciate your patience during this transition, and if you see that we’ve “missed a spot,” feel free to let us know!
