About the Running Frame

A Running Frame lets you walk, jog or run. Whether you're searching for recreational leisure, a physical challenge or just equipment that gets you from one place to another, a running frame does the trick!
Picture
A Running Frame like the RAD RaceRunner pictured above rolls so freely that even children and adults who have been restricted to power wheelchairs can propel themselves by their own efforts. It is fun and stimulating regardless if you are a child, teenager or senior.

The low center of gravity and frame design offers good stability and poise while running or walking. The saddle unit counteracts lateral sway and can be used as a seat when resting.

Running with a running frame is a fun and low impact activity that can be enjoyed with family, friends, and non- or disabled peers. It can open a whole new perspective on your abilities and opportunities, as well as a wide range of social interaction and learning experiences.

Individual choice of saddle, body support and handlebars enables you to challenge your aerobic fitness and work your major muscles while being gentle on your hips, knees and ankles. The drop down saddle linkage and open rear frame make the running frame easy to get on and off, even from a wheelchair.

A Running Frame is a great choice if you:
  • Have cerebral palsy or other disabilities that affect mobility and balance – e.g. muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease or amputations.
  • Want to be able to run, move fast and engage in physical exercise in the outdoors.
  • Are aged 5 or older.
Where to use a Running Frame:
  • In the outdoors on a stable surface – on a track field, in the street or on a stable path in the forest. Running frames are designed for multiple activities, including basic mobility, play, family rides, sport, and physical fitness.
Assessments and Demos
A running frame always needs to be customized to your individual needs. RAD-Innovations offers full assessment services as well as demos.
